This majestic bird of prey is the Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi)
I painted this to convey the present condition of this critically endangered specie. It is estimated that there are only several hundreds left of these beautiful raptor and that their population is on the decline in the wild. It is my dream to see them once again take their flight and soar our skies... NOW is the time to save them... I have got own pic with phillipine eagle, but it isn't realistic like your.
Sad but true. Yes, many eagles are endangered because of the rate of forest destruction happening around the world.
